Dog Bandanas

Starting off sewing, I wanted to make things for friends but in a very - low pressure - if this falls apart no one will be mad - type of way. Thankfully, I work in a dog friendly office. What better way to lower the stakes than make things for pets! They can’t tell me they don’t like it and hurt my feelings! So I looked up different patterns and found this free one that has been really spectacular for the smaller dogs in the office:

I started with Q - again - very low stakes. Only had to sew one letter! I used the XS template for lovely Q. And I think he looks quite dashing here with day 1 of his bandana.
Then his wonderful father sent along an update, 6 months later, with said bandana still intact and still looking good!

I obviously had to make one for a Franklin, once we found this hot dog fabric. This time switching the lettering to a felt instead of cotton fabric, and using the Small template from the blog post as well. I must note how important it is to pin the letters all together first before sewing. Spacing is paramount, keeping in mind your seam allowance!

Here's the model himself, gorgeous Franklin donning his bandana 6 months later as well!

So proud the bandanas lasted through washes!
Ever since trying with Q - I am now at 4 completed dog bandanas - and one cat wedding dress...but that is for another post...
